According to two sources who spoke to Reuters, Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law, has been actively reaching out to donors, urging them to attend a fundraising event for Trump in New York. This marks one of the first instances of Kushner engaging in efforts to support his father-in-law's reelection bid. After concluding his role as a White House adviser following Trump's presidency in 2021, Kushner shifted his focus to founding Affinity Partners, a private equity firm based in Miami.

Kushner's wife, Ivanka Trump, expressed her intention not to participate in her father's campaign at the onset of his third presidential run in November 2022, prioritizing her family instead. Whether Kushner's recent fundraising endeavors signify a more substantial involvement in Trump's campaign remains uncertain. Notably, Trump's current campaign operation is depicted as more streamlined and disciplined compared to previous years, with less prominent roles for family members.

Sources revealed that Kushner has been actively contacting potential donors ahead of a scheduled Manhattan fundraiser on May 14, where Trump is expected to attend. The event, co-hosted by Kushner's parents, Seryl and Charles Kushner, includes over a dozen hosts as per the invitation. While details of Kushner's outreach remain private, it is reported that he has personally extended invitations to potential attendees and sought referrals for additional contributors.

Kushner's firm, Affinity Partners, has garnered significant investments from the Middle East, including a reported $2 billion from the Saudi Arabian government. A spokesperson for Kushner emphasized his support for his father-in-law and willingness to facilitate connections with individuals seeking to assist the campaign.

As of the report, the Trump campaign had not responded to inquiries for further information. Lara Trump, Ivanka's sister-in-law, holds a prominent role as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and four out of Trump's five children are slated to serve as delegates representing Florida at the Republican National Convention in July. Ivanka Trump, however, is not listed among them, indicating her commitment to abstain from political involvement as previously stated.
