Noelia Voigt, who recently surrendered her Miss USA crown and title, has accused the pageant’s CEO of disregarding a sexual harassment incident and fostering a toxic workplace environment, according to her resignation letter obtained by NBC News on Thursday.

In the letter, Voigt highlighted the existence of a toxic atmosphere within the Miss USA organization, attributing it to poor management or, in more severe cases, instances of bullying and harassment. She pointed out that this situation arose shortly after she was crowned Miss USA 2023.

Voigt took to Instagram on Monday to announce her decision to step down, citing concerns about her mental well-being. Following suit, Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava, 17, released a statement two days later, explaining that her personal values were no longer fully aligned with the organization's direction.

Observers, stunned by these unprecedented resignations, noticed a hidden message in Voigt’s online statement: the first letter of each sentence spelled out “I am silenced.”

In her resignation letter, Voigt criticized Miss USA CEO and President Laylah Rose for consistently failing to communicate effectively. She described Rose’s communication style as cold and unnecessarily aggressive when it did occur.

Voigt also expressed frustration at the arbitrary imposition of disciplinary measures, including the threat of withholding her salary, for actions that were not previously discussed with her. She highlighted instances where such actions were taken based solely on Rose’s personal preferences, even when they had no tangible impact aside from not meeting those preferences.
